Pokie Ninja Game Review

Pokie Ninja is a fun browser game based on the hit anime series, Naruto. It’s a fighting game and upon registration, you get to choose which of the 18 ninjas from the anime you would like to be. Out of the 18 you can be, all of them will be recognizable for fans of Naruto. There’s Gaara, Shikumaru, and even the chubby Choji. Sadly, the main characters such as Naruto himself and even Sakura are not playable.

When you finally choose a character (it took me quite a while) you are already thrust into a battle with Gaara. Gaara is no slouch and you are beaten. This is supposed to happen as you are forced back into the camp to start the tutorial.

From the moment you start playing the game, RPG gaming fans will be very familiar with how Pokie Ninja plays. As always, you start off was a weakling with no weapons and pretty much no skills. It’s in your best interest to upgrade and train hard if you want to be the ultimate ninja.

Getting to that level is no easy task mind you. It will take a lot of time and a bit of patience if you want to improve your skills and beat some of the more powerful ninja bosses that will await you in the arena. There are quests that you can accept that will transport you into other areas of the game outside of your village.

Once you exit the village you realize the sheer scope that this game can provide you. You are unable to enter most of the areas of the world map unless you level up first. This is much like a RPG game seen on home consoles and not on a browser-based internet game. I admired the amount of work that has been put into Pokie Ninja, although it is quite daunting at the very beginning of the game.

In order to level up, it’s best to accept quests and fight as many opponents as possible. The great thing about this game is the level of to interactivity at your disposal. On the left hand corner of the screen is a live chat box where you can talk with other members while playing the game. Not only that but you can also challenge them to fights inside the arena to help you level up more quickly. You can even participate in tournaments to see who the ultimate Pokie Ninja champion really is.

As amazing as this game is, the one thing that are did not like about it is that all battles are simulated. Much like in a soccer management game, preparation is the key to winning battles and all you can do is sit and watch and see if everything goes according to plan. It’s a little bit annoying unable to actually control fights yourself as it gets boring just watching matches without even actually pressing a button…

Thankfully, Pokie Ninja’s visuals are bright and cute. All the characters are in chibi form (Japanese for small person), so you know they all look little and cute. I just wished the game has some sort of audio as it’s almost too quiet playing a sort of game like this without any sound. There’s not even any background music that you can listen too either.

Pokie Ninja could be one of the best browser-based RPG games I’ve ever played. There’s not only a whole online community you can interactive with but the game offers hours of great gameplay. Naruto fans will love the way each characters have been transformed into cute little chibis. Too bad you cannot actually play out the fights or else this game would have been perfect. Nevertheless, RPG fans will still have hours of fun customizing their characters in becoming the ultimate ninja.

Newest RPG games will keep fans of the RPG gaming genre happy. This game in particular is mix of fighting and combat action elements and that’s more then enough to entice any gamer. Just be sure to be patient as the game is not a very easy one.
